Always a fun topic if you're game. Mine? Too many, but the one I have in mind this morning...I really like that glossy, slick, layered, "80s" production. I know it's far from honest and yes, I also love the minimalist integrity of "Sunday at the Village Vanguard," or "Hell Among the Yearlings," but as deep as I sometimes find myself sinking into "The Ghost of Tom Joad" (and wishing "Nebraska" shared its production ethos), the Springsteen album I like the sound of best is "Tunnel of Love." And oh do I thrill at the unnatural gloss of "Gaucho" (ok, late 70s) and "Love Over Gold."

What? You thought I was going to reveal something truly humiliating? I don't know you guys that well...ok, ok, I actually kinda like Van Morrison's skiffle album. That's the best you're getting, though. We won't be discussing my truly embarrassing prog collection, or the truly questionable depths to which I explored country rock for awhile...

Mine is Natacha Atlas she has a very sensual voice which goes well with those Arbabic beats; for the ultimate check out her perfomance on Jean Micheel Jaree C'est La Vie

Transvision Vamp - Velveteen... it's so 80's kitschy/campy, but the production is spotless and I used to drool over the singer when I saw her on the telly (my early teens in the late 80's)... "I don't want your money honey, I want your looove!!", yeah baby, I'll give yer my love anytime!
Anyway... actually I think I couldn't say it's a guilty pleasure... but yeah, it's crap!

None, since I offloaded my Elton John albums in the mid-70s. I do have a King Crimson LP, but never listen to it.

I've not heard that one, but 'Crying In My Sleep' has a real 'guilty pleasure' quality to it! I have Watermark on vinyl somewhere, stolen from an ex-girlfriend!

"Traveling Boy" and "All I Know" are two of my favorite tracks from the Angel Clare album...

... and I forgot Mariah Carey. Her voice can sound fantastic... and in duet with Boyz II Men like on 'One Sweet Day' it's enough to bring a tear to the eye!

'Thriller' by Michael Jackson. Cranking up 'Billie Jean' before going out for a night on the town stirs the adrenalin and gets me in the mood for a party quite like nothing else... :hotrod:

I think Katy Perry's latest album is a blast - she's got a great turn of phrase and an ear for a great pop song. Sorry chaps, gotta swallow my pride and fess up!

Abba. I know they're still considered a bit naff in some quarters, but as pure pop they're masters of the art. Chiquitita is one of my all time faves...

:smoking: I like a bit of Abba too...they were the first band I got into back in 1976 with the Arrival album..I had to search about quite a lot to find a decent vinyl copy of that album..at 32 minutes long it is the perfect pop album. Flawless from begining to end IMHO.:)

I'm quoting the pair of them again (Doh where's Kylie gone, that's ruined things) ...just because I can :stalks:

This might fit the bill on both counts, not an act I usually like but this is a bit of a good track, and very viewable :eyebrows: En Vogue

To deviate from 'hot totty' (sorry Guys) and return to the actual subject of 'Guilty Pleasures', at the risk of loosing all creditibility and respect I might have earnt since joining, I'll have a go.

Music
Enjoying post-Peter Green 'Fleetwood Mac' as much as the early 'Mac'.

Enjoying some Phil Collins.

Other
Occasionally 'slobbing out' in front of the telly, usually watching a DVD with a good bottle of beer or an average bottle of rioja.

Listening to 'The Archers' on BBC Radio 4.

Eating old fashioned sweets (aniseed balls, toffees etc.) Bought myself 4oz aniseed balls today, from an 'Olde Worlde' sweet shop that has just opened in town (shouldn't eat sweet things as I'm Type II diabetic).

Eating cheese, especially foreign recipes (discouraged for the same reason).

Drinking wine (often too much of it, and again for the same reason).

I'll get me hat!........

Regards

Gruppo Sportivo, 10 Mistakes is definatly a guilty pleasure, the girls sound so hot its distracting, great production too.
