Hard decision, but i've decided to move this on. This really is superb sounding with some high sensitive speakers.

The lettering on the volume down remote has slightly faded, but still a joy to hold and use! This remote is the best i've ever come across, it has some weight to it. The acrylic has a slight scratch, I've tried to capture it. Apart from that the amp looks fantastic, i can't really see anything obvious and would be of any concern.

Mark from Ming Da UK is one of the nicest people to deal with in the Hi-Fi world and can offer upgrades to this unit for not much money, servicing cost is also reasonable if that time ever comes.

I have the box, and dust covers for both remote and amp. I have udgraded the 2 x 12AU7 to Mullard ECC82

18w per channel
Single ended
KT90 valves
Remote control volume included

Item Dimensions 32x38x20
Item Wieght 20kg

Collection preferred (SE London) to make sure you're happy with this, but can post at your own risk and cost. Price, well i think this owns me £600, so let's start here.

I can't believe i've had zero interest in this, these usually get snapped up.

The price is not fixed and open to offers.

I'm ashamed to say I've had three of these amps and all were excellent. The first two were Mk1's like this one - more attractive than the all black later ones. The first went because I wanted more power for the speakers I was using at the time, the second because I was in a box reducing mood. It wasn't because of sound quality which is superb. The second and now the third have been modified by Mark at Ming Da with replacement caps which brings further improvements for not much money. I've also found that using an active pre adds something I like so I'm off to Mark's again to have one of the inputs connected direct i.e. bypassing the volume pot. This third one is not going anywhere :)

Good luck with sale.

That's very interesting, i did'nt know about this active pre mod that Mark offers. Infact thats ruffled my feathers a bit because i would have taken a different route if i had of known about this before!

I would assume it is a case of taking the existing volume pot out of the circuit, not the addition of an active stage ?

To be clear, Mark is adding a switch and relay to one set of inputs so they can either go direct to the power amp or via the volume pot. You do need a separate pre amp to use the Piccolo as a power amp.
