This was bought as an experiment to go totally digital but I find that I cannot manage without my vinyl front end

Just being nosey, but what does 'single ended' mean in a passive pre.

Just being nosey, but what does 'single ended' mean in a passive pre.Not balanced (XLR). Some passives can have XLRs but that doesn't mean they're balanced (or "true" balanced as some have started saying to differentiate with what is essentially fake balanced with XLRs but no balanced topology).

I cannot see what difference you would get between 25 and 50 K.

Because I wanted the attenuator for another project and £185 is still cheaper than buying a new one - and I get all the other bits to put in my spares box.

Thanks Lawrence, so used to seeing the term associated with triode valve amps :)
