Has anyone here tried the 2008 version? If yes, does it sound? Is it reliable etc?

An OK amp back in the day but now 11 years down the line, cooking the components !!! Their reliability wasn't the best back then.

Did the new version still get as hot as the original? I thought they had just made them to look similar, didn't realise they were also as "heavily biased" into class A.

Confirms what I thought although to be fair it doesn't actually say they are not class A. I suspect the components are not subject to as much temperature stress as the original though. I haven't actually heard one though, sorry Shane.

I heard the original A1 when everyone was raving about it... did absolutely nothing for me apart from getting nice and warm...;)
