Been giving it some not-too-serious thought, but as with everything, it'll probably come down to cost. Is it an expensive job?

Depends on how much beer you plan on swilling, and whether you do it as a joint or solo venture.
This year it was £135 for 2 nights (Sat & Sun) or £85 for the Saturday night. If you do it with a co-pilot (recommended, so you can get a break) then it's only half the cost each. Yes it's a bit of hard work but the atmosphere and banter is great as is the exhibitors after show curry on the Sunday.
I'm down again for my 3rd weekend of fun and am hoping I've also blagged the same big system room as this year, cos my Ushers love being let of their leash.
Please let it be a different hotel though....

No. I was on holiday over the weekend of Kegworth this year, unfortunately.

the hotel i thought was very good , loads of parking becuase of the overflow car park . modest hotel means costs can be kept down . extremely easy to find unlike some hi fi shows

Yeah I thought it was a good venue. Although lugging my 50lb amp from the overflow wasn't my finest moment, exertion clear on my face while waiting for a gap in the traffic :(

That's not me then , I just arrived home from a 2 day stay at the boat club on one of my boats , Launched 3 members boat's on the tide this afternoon inc my Hardy , Going again tomorrow for sea trials , J do hope the engine runs OK now :rolleyes:
Still not re assembled my hifi after the show :doh:

I think calling it 'life' may be stretching it a bit for me. Since finishing my work at dinnertime, I've been to Tesco (twice), B&Q and Argos to buy stuff for the pub. And right now, apart from playing a bit of Prodigy on th'ifi, I'm busy telling you about my life. Nearly teatime though, so I've that to look forward to :)
I think calling it 'life' may be stretching it a bit for me. Since finishing my work at dinnertime, I've been to Tesco (twice), B&Q and Argos to buy stuff for the pub. And right now, apart from playing a bit of Prodigy on th'ifi, I'm busy telling you about my life. Nearly teatime though, so I've that to look forward to :)

Sounds like heaven. Mrs. B and I have been decorating for the last two days and have at least one more day of it to go.
The hi-fi is disconnected as I had to move it for a new window to go in last week, and still need to touch up the paintwork around it. And the crowning glory to top all this - I’ve run out of beer.
Happy bloody Easter. :(

We redecorated the lounge and had a new carpet fitted. Thanks to careful planning, the hi-fi was out of action for only one day. The biggest upheaval was clearing the room entirely of furniture to make it ready for the new carpet. That, and having to move 800 LPs, around 2,000 CDs and a similar number of books and finding a place to put them all.

The chef at Anita's son's pub is gone. He made some excellent meals and had quite a following, but he was also a raging pisshead (at least ten pints a night) and we think he may also have a gambling problem. He owed Anita's son (Leam) about four grand in unpaid rent, claiming the business was struggling. But we know what his takings were, and roughly what he was paying to the suppliers, and the figures didn't add up, not even close.
So anyway he got his marching orders, and has been replaced (temporarily) by an agency chef. Then it turns out that the suppliers are refusing to supply, as the old chef had stopped paying for the stuff. So the pub will have to settle the debt, and in the meantime Anita has been landed with the (unpaid) job of sourcing ingredients herself. Tesco was for berries and various sugars so new chef can do an Eton Mess or something. Argos trip was to buy walkie talkies so bar and kitchen can communicate.
B&Q was for a replacement turny-handle flushing thingummy for our bog. And for once it wasn't me that broke it.

i will just have to not decorate... its as good an excuse as any. livingroom has not had a like of paint since it was redone by myself about 12 years ago. looks not to bad tho...advantages of no others making a mess, eton or otherwise, and not smoking
