Hi all,

I've just downloaded Jriver and have set up a Media Center. Its finding Volumio ok, but it's only playing the first 3 seconds of a track before moving on to the next track

I've tried everything and just can't figure out why!!!

Any help?

could be a bit rate problem between the 2 units.. a driver issue or try and see if there is a newer build

in jr click tools, options.. then audio device, device settings and then dsp and output formats... Need to check your pi too. try them all on standard 44/16 first. there can be quite a few device options so avoid kernal one. start with direct sound then wasapi etc.
if a update is avail it usually says so at bottom left

done some tests with 24 and 25. Mine is doing similar except just playing 5 seconds then stopping. As JRiver used to work with my RPI i can only think its a volumio issue, but I could be wrong. No issue using audirvana to rpi tho. cancel that i have an issue with audirvana too now  must be volumio

I can't seem to get it straightened out even though I Know Jimbo is having great success with Audirvana.

Just tried them to my oppo dvd player and it works fine so its a volumio thing. must have come from the last update i did recently. as it was working last time i tried it. but if it sends to oppo then it should go to the pi too. knew i shouldnt have updated when it was fine

So if you want it to work you will, it seems have to factory reset volumio to an older version(if you have one) if youve ever updated the program from within volumio a factory reset should sort it, but you might lose ability to use my volumio

I haven't signed up for anything either.

I'll do a factory breast and see what happens.

That sounds more exiting than a factory reset

Yep.. I’ve got Volumio issues now as well.
There I was quite happily streaming Audirvana/Quboz into several pi’s round the house. Playing around I had to reload the latest Volumio onto a card and now it will play stuff from my NAS, but not Quboz. A few seconds worth and then it cuts out.
Think this is now the issue.

Lmao, let us know how you get on.

Right... all sorted Oliver, so thank you for the tip. Even though I had deleted all my old zip files from my laptop by some mystical means the computer went back to the download source and voila.

I’m getting tempted to switch to Roon and convert my pi’s to Roon end points.
One of the reasons is I’m looking to invest in the Innuos Zen as a ripper/streamer with the added bonus that I can make it a Roon core. Expensive option but I’m getting weary of always having to fix other systems.

If your volumio has been updated in situ you can always reset to factory or whatever its called in side the program. This will take it back to a date where it obviously was working before all the updates.
Worked for me and only took a couple of mins
