Only discovered this vendor just the other day. They're based in Somerset. So not a million miles away from Devon! They don't sell mega expensive Hi-Fi. The prices seem quite approachable.
Has anyone here bought from Eden Audio?

Adam is nice guy, he used to be based in Spain until a few years ago, an old forum personality from back in the ZeroGain days!

Thanks Tony. That sounds reassuringly convincing.
If I decide to buy a Sonneteer amp, I'll very much buy one from Adam. I've been watching his video content on YouTube today. He sounds like a decent bloke, I don't detect any nasty vibes etc.

In my direct experience there were few nice guys on Zero Gain, without knowing Adam's nick name I could not comment regarding him, but being frank the place was full of cyber bullies and the very worst types that the online audio world has to offer. Zero Gain was a horrible place.

Not at all, if a trade member on here spots mention of a product they sell in a thread, they are allowed to mention that they do it.

Absolutely, that's part of what they pay for!

Oh dear, the least said the better! Didn't he used to own/administrate ZG at one time, before it was handed over to someone else, who's name escapes me?
Let's just say I didn't get on with him at all... However, that said, I cannot comment on how good a dealer he is or otherwise, as I've never been a customer of his, so in that respect I bow to your opinion. In any case, he may have changed as a person since the days of ZG, as you're talking about 15 years ago!

Allow me...
Dave posts regularly on here, and always comes across as a nice guy and helpful too. I'm told he is also incredibly handsome. He also sells Luxman, and one day when I'm in a position to buy, Dave's stall is where I'll be going :)
Rumours that Cadbury's may be naming a chocolate biscuit after him may be unfounded, but you never know.
Is that enough promotion for now?
Marco
Adam was not an owner of ZG that was Mike Pinchin
Adam is a fine chap no problems at all he has good ethics unlike a good few in this industry imho
I did not realise the dealer regs were that lax on here that you can promote in threads thanks for the clarification
Hi Tony,
Of course... As long as the thread topic is relevant to a product (or products) you sell, feel free to promote them out with the trade area!:)
In terms of the other thing, perhaps he wasn't the owner, or I may have the wrong guy. But there was someone on ZG, called Adam, who was a dealer and lived in Spain that was one of those arrogant 'objectivist types' I've battled with throughout the years on various forums, especially on stand and cable threads, and he used to be friendly with Blzebub (James McPeake), Sideshowbob, and all those other tossers.
You were there too, when all that stuff was kicking off, but if the description above doesn't fit with the Adam you're referring to, then perhaps I'm thinking of someone else. However, Neil's view of ZG and mine are identical. The disgusting way folks were treated on there, if you were the 'wrong type' is the polar opposite of the vibe and attitude we promote on here.
Marco.
Just thinking again about ZG, there was a guy on there called something like Michaelab. Do you remember? I'm sure he was one of the owners or admin there - and he was defo a tosser!
Marco.

Arh yes the Guardian readers who migrated to PFM :)
Adam I have felt with for a while over the years never had a problem however being the distributors (NuNu) for Soneeter UK we have not dealt with him yet regarding thus brand as he was based in Spain for over 10 years
How is life with you then?

Lol... Another one was Matthew someone, can't remember his second initial. It might've been 'R'... Do you know who I mean? And Paul Ranson, or something like that. All part of a clique.
But thank goodness they don't seem prominent on pfm now. I certainly don't miss the bad old days! Life's fine here mate, what about you?
Marco.
Very busy Marco but fine thank you
Yes I do recall the Corbinista clan of self indulgent, self appointed audio intelligentsia that combined Napoleon syndrome with ego inflation coupled with a smattering of inferiorty complex
Jolly nice fellows as well
:lolsign:
I couldn't have put it better myself!:D They're largely the reason why this place was born: to escape from all their pish:rolleyes:
It's precisely the "self appointed audio intelligentsia", as you say, who take over and spoil forums, or certainly used to, and create cliques.
I blame the fact that the Internet is plagued by too many geeks/pompous intellectuals/university types, who suffer from having an inflated sense of self-importance [and often curiously fragile ego], and so look down upon anyone that they don't consider as 'worthy'.
And when such arrogance and pomposity is combined with a nerdy interest in hi-fi, it creates a uniquely loathsome kind of individual - especially if you dare undermine their self-importance or challenge their (often deeply-ingrained) scientific belief system;)
Marco.
These aspects of personality and social interaction are not only in the audio world, or the web, but widespread, the web making many human traits much more transparently apparent, for example dishonesty.
In the last few decades modesty and humility have receded from being an important aspect of personality and character, largely I would argue starting in the 80s under Thatcher's philosophies which spread the love of self and personal material acquisition. She seemed to define individuality, mainly in terms of one's material choices, rather than in others.
This has encouraged self importance, egotism and self promotion, for example in media people often who often have little talent or anything special to offer IMO.
The trouble with this is that not only is it offensive to others, but the nature of survival reaction is to do the same so as not to be 'left out' or swamped, and hence having a reduced presence, and so 'waving one's own flag' has become more the norm, this often being at the sacrifice of personal discipline and endeavour, especially regarding seeking the truth.
Many now are in internally constructed, and self deceptional comfort zones, quite unable, because of unwillingness, to see beyond their egotism and self interest, and they will happily suck others into self serving agendas resulting from this standpoint.
This all bodes badly for researching, seeking, and understanding external, (or internal for that matter), truth, and we seem to be in a political, (small 'p'), malaise in many ways.
This often arrogant stance, facilitates bulldozing over the beliefs and opinions of others, regardless of any validity which the others may have, and causes the more sensitive to be rather offended.
Many communications I receive, from business, and potential partners on dating sites, take the form of commands, orders to do something, rather than offering me the opportunity to do it, which would respect my rights and feelings.
Why do newsreaders say; "See you next time" at the end of their readings? how can this possibly be so?
if Thatcher was actually responsible for the entire world completely changing their outlook on life it would make her a more important historical figure than Jesus or Hitler. I remain unconvinced.

well, Ronnie too, should be in that mix.
Ronnie Biggs? Ronnie Kray? Help me out here.

lol.. Reagan (not again Margaret, im tired):eyebrows:
I knew a bloke who met Reagan some years after he had finished being the Prez. He said he was expecting him to be like his Spitting Image character ('The President's Brain is Missing' etc) but turned out he was nothing like that. Said he came across as being very intelligent and educated. Which was a bit disappointing.
I made no reference to the whole world.

Rather sadly I tend to agree.
I see what you describe in some of my nieces and nephews and their partners. One in particular comes to mind who spends her time telling others that they are wrong and her narrow views and mindset is correct. At the same time she talks over others opinions and rubbishes them whether she understands the topic to not. Her level of aggressiveness and arrogance even extends to people more than twice her age, who have had a bit more experience of the world. I have given up having any form of conversation with her other than to say hello and goodbye, or if she starts barracking others in my presence I come to their rescue if necessary.
Unfortunately this type of behaviour seems to becoming more the norm nowadays, where respect and consideration of others is of minor importance.

The Jordan Peterson interview with GQ on youtube perfectly encapsulates this ideologue, not to mention the Cathy Newman interview with him.
Slowly things have went very sideways in the west.
Personally what I find far worse and to be a disturbingly increasing trend is the people who think that they are genuinely selfless, caring, generous and pretty much perfect in every respect and as a consequence feel that puts them in a position to criticise and judge others who fall below their standard. After all, if they can be like that why can't everyone?
Of course they are nothing like as selfless, caring and generous as they perceive themselves to be, but are seemingly ignorant of the advice of Pythia ('First, know thyself') and unaware that Bible also cautions against such delusion, possibly because they are almost always atheists and have never read it.
This has sadly led to the idea taking hold that in fact the vast majority of people are fundamentally just as good and selfless as they are, but being a bit dim are led astray by a few 'rotten apples' and if we could just do something about the handful of bad guys who are ruining it for everyone the world would be a paradise.
I mean it's forgivable naivety in a wide-eyed teenager but not in an educated, middle-aged man. Nevertheless, attempt to oppose them and they will run you down with the ruthlessness only available to those that are certain that they have the moral high ground.

They are referred to as SJW (social justice warriors).....this has completely contaminated the humanities in universities-its now percolating into business and politics.
Its an ideology as dangerous as marxism-group identity over individual sovereignty....the 20th century has taught us where this ultimately leads.
The gulag archipelago should be on all school curriculum's.....the ignorance of even recent history troubles me.

I don't believe it's possible to learn without listening, and so people who just talk over others aren't learning anything, and consequently are quite stupid. I once had to work with someone who always tried to pass off his opinions as fact, and when one day I asked him "At what age did you decide you'd learnt every thing there is to know?" he gave me the silent treatment for a week, which suited me fine.

The grievance study hoaxers....the tsunami of bull shit was halted for a short period.
Peter Bogasian, James Lindsay and Helen Pluckrose did a sterling job of exposing this current fervour for what it is.

I agree with you Tony about SJWs and also much of what is said in other posts, there being many correlates of these trends, and they do not bode well for the development of western culture.
And yes, didn't Cathy Newman show herself to be a biased and dogmatic fool when interviewing the humble Jordan Peterson, and she an Oxford graduate?

On a positive note it served as a catalyst to the IDW (intelectual dark web), I have great hope we are at a datum point.
