All my TTs have had built in strobes which I have used to check the speed. However the Technics tracker I have been working on doesn't have a strobe. I have a decent quality Oyaide disc, however the readings were way out on both the Technics and on my 401 which was registering fine on its built in strobe. Then the penny dropped that I must be using the wrong light and sure enough it seems that LEDs should not be used.
The purpose built lights are quite expensive, and as I already have a decent strobe disc, could someone please recommend a small battery powered light that is suitable to read a strobe disc?
