View Full Version : Cartridge Man Music Maker 3
For sale is a Cartridge Man Music Maker 3
I bought this new and it has been carefully used, mounted solely on an Airtangent air-bearing tonearm on my Garrard 401. I estimate that it has seen about 350 hours use, so it is less than half worn. These cartridges track at 1.5g and stylus wear is very slow.
I recently upgraded to a Music Master cartridge which I bought ex-dem without trade in.
The current price of a Music Maker 3 is £750 and this has a £250 trade in value against a new Music Maker.
Included in the sale is the Cartridge Man Isolater which is a £90 option.
I realise buying a used cartridge could be seen as a bit of a gamble, so I'm happy for this to be picked up and tested on my turntable. A cup of tea and biscuits included.
I live in Wirral (Merseyside).
Price is £175 including postage.

I think this might just about be my desert island cartridge. With a TP4 only deck at the moment but I’d have your arm off otherwise, very keen pricing.

Oh my ! As a long term user of both the cartridge man Music Maker 3 and the Music Master, this is an incredible bargain.
A wonderfully balanced classy performer. A serious bargain.
If I didn’t already have the Music Master, I’d bite your arm off at that price.
That's both arms gone then !

an Airtangent air-bearing tonearm on my Garrard 401
that's not a combo I've come across before.
How about starting a thread in the Gallery section of the forum with some system photos. I'm sure a lot of folks would be interested.
... and glws.

If I didn’t think it would be overkill on my SL1200 MkII I’d bite your arm off too!

I don’t think David has any arms left. Maybe a leg? Unless you’ve eaten already, then perhaps a foot?
Hello David, pm for you.
Best,
Kevin
Missed it by half an hour!!!
If the deal falls through for any reason put me on the reserve list please...:)

That's disappointing. After sending a pm 20 minutes after the thread was created and the site telling me the thread had only one view at time of doing so I felt sure that I must have been the first person to message about this :(

No I don't think so.
It's normally a good idea to post a notification in the thread when contacting a member regarding interest in a sale following a PM.

I’ve never previously had an issue when selling or buying via pm.

Just saying, most people add a heads up on the thread when sending a PM. Up to you.

Yeah I didn't even think of that! I just got excited as I've fancied one of these for ages.
I wouldn't worry, if 350 hours is half life, then that would take me about 3 months before I'd killed it with the next 350 hours, which was why I didn't buy it about 10 minutes after it was listed [emoji6] [emoji23]

I don't know who gave the OP that incorrect duff info...It hasn't a 700 hour tip!
