I've just had delivery of the NYDJ (not your daughters jeans!) and they are certainly quite flattering for my age group... don't ask :doh:

I ordered a size smaller, as stated, and these USA made jeans just fit perfectly....

Very nice..... and they certainly 'lift' the bum area nicely....

You are supposed to choose a size smaller than your normal fit, which I did, and it worked out super for me...

I used to live and die in Levis 501s but being straight cut they never had that 'tailored' look & my 'paunch' had a knack of pushing them down & causing a bad case of 'builders bum'.

Roy I think 'builders bum' is not a good look

I definitely agree that the 'stretch' in jeans is the way to go.. I think it's the Elastane in their construction that makes the difference... Certainly my new NYDJ have enough Elastane in the 'right' places that aids their perfect fit

That last line reminds me of a trip to Scotland many years ago. After stopping at Tebay services for a brew, I saw this bum on the slip road, and decided to give him a lift, as it was raining and he looked pitiful. Immediately the car was filled with the smell of a forgotten wheelie bin full of dead dogs. Never again!

On the subject of tramps, Mrs. P told me yesterday that now I've lost some weight (17 lbs) all my jeans are looking like I found them in a skip. So I think a trip to Cheshire Oaks is on the cards.

I'd go with Roy's suggestion with the skinny stretch ones, but with my legs I'd look like Max Wall :(

Or do NYDJ also do a "Not Your Dad's Jeans" range?

Loads of places, I used to buy mine from the US, works out about 2/3s cheaper than UK outlets. A lot of it is unsanforized, which means it shrinks a bit after first few washes, just like in those 80s levis ads. Most famous brand is probably Studio d'artisan, who levis tried to sue for copyright infringement on their logo, which showed 2 pigs pulling at a pair of jeans rather than 2 horses! I've had a pair of their jeans for 5 years, still going strong with heavy use!! Levis don't make them like that anymore, ok they do, but only their more expensive premium lines, playing catch up with the Japenese!!

I used to buy Calvin Klein jeans cheap from TK Maxx because they are quite soft denim and comfortable. But then they stopped doing them cheap and if they think I'm going to pay £120 for a pair of keks they need their heads examining. Moved exclusively to tracky bottoms, never looked back.

But "smooth" means so much maintenance, and I'm really lazy...Plus with the cold weather we've had it would be a Kenwoods button mushroom, and that's not a good luck either :(

Because of our increasingly busy lives, I know with gardening there is a preference these days for a nice patio, rather than a lawn and hedges, and all the maintenance that goes with it, but a patio down there is the opposite of low maintenance.

I once used caustic soda to clean out the exhausts on my old Suzuki 250. Pretty fierce stuff, with very clear warnings IIRC. Not something you'd want on your bits, although if it could be formed into suppositories it might make a nice Christmas gift for Marco.

I don't wear short skirts 'out', that'd not be good, very tarty don't you think...?

Above the knee is ok with nothing underneath I reckon...
