Hi all

I have just joined the art of sound. I retired from work a week ago and now have more time to pursue my interests including listening to music on my stereo. I listen mainly to classical music along with a mix of rock, folk, singer/ songwriter albums from the sixties onwards. I am keen to get an enjoyable sound from my system at a reasonable cost with a mixture of old and new kit and am seeking some guidance from those with more experience, particularly when it comes to digital sources having just purchased an audiolab M-DAC+.

My current system is Arcam CD72, Arcam A85, Arcam P85, biamped PMC DB1 Golds and a B&W ASW600 subwoofer. Also feeding into the Arcam amp is (1) the audiolab M-DAC+ being fed by an iMac through an optical link and (2) a Thorens TD 150 with TP13A Kugelarm Tonearm and Sumiko Pearl cartridge. I use Qobuz for straightforward streaming but am struggling with other high resolution music server software like "pure music" and all the different formats.

All the best

Peter / Mirador
