I expect the cost to be around 300,000+ quid without tonearms or 'upgraded' platter.....:eyebrows:

It’s undeniably impressive and a technical masterpiece but I can’t help wondering if it’s really 2040% better than a Technics SP-10R...

And it’s still belt drive!!

yes, impressive engineering. Im sure it will find a welcoming market....

a wealthy music lover can easily spend a £1million on a stereo now

a tech das fully loaded, expensive phono stage, expensive pre amp, the big d'agostino 250k monos, the chronosonics, cable looms.....etc...

:)

My back would be fooked trying to reach over and put an LP on that platter [emoji848]

Be nice to try as few charity shop LPs on it though, at least then the deck would cost more than the vinyl [emoji6] [emoji23][emoji23]

I watched the video and felt this overwhelming urge of "why?"

Its impressive from an engineering perspective and the fit and finish looks immaculate but it's still a belted turntable and it's so OTT it's unreal.

No thanks, not for me.

If it sounds like any of the others, I will pass thank you, think SME30 on uber steroids

What was all that faffing about with cueing the record - and then we hear what sounds like kareoke! A perfect example of a terrible demonstration.

The only thing that interested me was the SME 3012R with the black counterweights.

While looks like it will be a superb built bit of kit, nothing looks overly cleaver about it it uses a single large papst motor and still a belt drive design. It does have an impressive platter I have owned the Airforce one and was not happy with its performance one bit. My Micro seiki 8000 which comes from the same designer is a far more musical beast lets hope the Zero sounds more like the 8000.

I admire great engineering but is there anything new about this deck that may set it apart from the opposition, or indeed a deck like the SME 30 at a tenth of the price?

Sorry but I took one look at that without even watching the video and thought what a joke. Ok if someone wants to part with loads of dosh and can afford it good luck but I really don't see that being better than sp10, denon DP80 etc. Different maybe but not better.

WOW! who would have thought it would take all that set up to get a High End replay from a Vinyl LP.
I bet KTEL never see that one coming.
I bet it depreciates by 50% within 6 months of a sale date.
