Hi

My brother has an unmodded technics 1210 and is looking for a mm cart to better the ‘standard’ Stanton. Is there anything around the £100 mark that could offer improvement? Thanks!

Ortofon 2m carts always do well on Technics standard arm. You may get a 2m blue for his budget that sounds pretty good.

The Nagaoka MP 11 is a good cart for a standard Techie

I had a 2m Blue on mine for a while, was decent for the money, a bit hard edged when pushed loud on rock but if you can pick one up second hand it's a decent buy.

For up to and around £100 you'd be mad not to consider the new Audio Technica AT-VM95 range - see https://eu.audio-technica.com/cartridges/moving-magnet

I'm using a VM95ML, about £150, and am very impressed with it.
