7B's are mono amps......how does he do the Bi-Amping? JBL 4350's and 4350B's need to be Bi-Amped.......:scratch:

I heard speakers like this in the 70's, Tottenham Court Road, playing Dark Side of the Moon, it was memorable.

I have to say they do sound pretty amazing...Have had them for a long time. Was not able to use them until we built this house in 1987-88. Last house the living room was not large enough.......Used them for "occasional" tables until we moved....LOL
Story on how I came to purchase them...........
There used to be a local buy,sell & trade paper called the Trading Times...this is back in the late 70's or so.....internet was just getting going so craig's list had not been invented yet........
Anyway only picked up a trading times maybe once a month or so......so one day I bought one and found an ad in the stereo section for a pair of JBL 4350's for sale...$1,200.00. Well that's a lot of money to me back then, anyway the paper sat on my kitchen table for a week or so....kept looking at it and finally decided to call on it figuring they had been sold already but to my surprise that had not been sold. The person trying to sell them was a plumber who had finished up a job at some rental hall, the owner for some reason could not pay him so he took the speakers and was suing for the rest and just needed the cash. We agreed on a price of $1,000.00. Just a matter of being at the right place at the right time with the cash. Cabinets are a little scratched up, Had to repair the cover frames, put new fabric on them, cabinets do need refinishing but they sound just fine........ One of thing I really like about them is they do not need to be loud to sound great.....but when one does turn them up it is like your right in the recording studio.....

I think...that's why I built the stands/boxes with casters...alot easier to move...not that I have moved them much...they sound better when at ear/eye level when sitting down...they do have a metal framework that is set up to "hang" the cabinets if needed to save on floor space in a recording studio.

Alphason stands ? I am sure the wheels facilitate equipment and cable changes but from a sound quality point of view ............... Yes spikes and filling the separating tubes with builders sand would have a significant effect. Great collection of equipment too.
