Just brought a thorens td 160 and planing on a complete rebuild, plans are to rebuild the box in oak with a thicker heavier bottom new top in polished gun metal, arm changed to a origin live encounter belden mains cable if any one can help with pics pm me and I’ll email them over as I go for you to post,

Some pics of my TD160 to follow, now finished and sounding great, I’m finding it some much more musical and fun than my technics.

I did exactly the same as you some years ago, ultimately the thorens went and the 1210 stayed, I couldn't get used to the pitch instability with the thorens. The 160 is a great deck and fun to work on.

Nice work. I had similar fun a while back with a TD150 Mk1. Somehow a deck is even better when you've put something of yourself into it.
