Hopefully this is in the correct section. Just set up new marantz cd6006. All appears ok and performs well but remote control seems to be completely inoperable? Am I missing someone obvious , I can’t fin£ any info online about issues so thought I would try here.

Any thoughts?

Have you made sure the batteries in the remote are okay and inserted correctly? :)

Yes first thing I did and even put new ones in but I will try another set just in case

Sometimes new remotes have a protective film over the end that needs to be removed? Have you pressed the 'remote mode CD' button?

It is and it is now sorted. On the back is an internal /eternal setting which doesn't really get highlighted in manual. now fully functioning. thanks for input.

thing is I never read instructions.....this time I did and it didn't help but thought it would be something obvious and I must admit its playing t=rather nicely now.
