I am going to upgrade my Jolida FX Glass tube DAC.
The main power supply caps I am leaning to Audio Note standard grade and where values can't be had Elna Silmic II.
For coupling caps Rike Audio S Cap 2 .
Anyone use the Standard AN electrolytic s before and if so did you like them? or the Rike Audio?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated?

Audio note Kaisei caps in my Krell do a superb job.

Swapped a load of the Rubycons for Silmics and they are both good. I'd give it to the Rubycons in the Beard amp I did it in. But the Silmics were still up to the job.

Another non audio grade cap in the same positions (all 16 of them) was a disaster. Pick carefully and refer to Humble Homemade to make your choice.

Or Open Door...:)

Do Silmics go up to 400VDC?

100V AFAICT. I have been happy with Panasonic's and Kemet's various offerings at the higher voltage end of things but more as replacements for failing components, I have done little rolling/testing so interested to hear what others have found.

Basically you just want Japanese caps. :)

I like Nippon-Chemicon KMG, if they’re good enough for Krell (loads of them in my KRC-3, never needed replacing)...

You’ll be able to find some in your voltage rating. :)

The big snap ins will be JJ's, smaller caps Audio Note Standard and Elna silmic 2 .
The output caps Mundorf Supreme .
Audio Note gold tube sockets, silver internal wire, Hexfred diode rectifier, A resistor swap in a key position , and an orange drop in place of a cheaper film cap.
Some gold plated copper RCA jacks.
The idea is increase micro detail and deliver it in a smoother, more liquid like way.

I prefer film or PET caps for small values in the signal path, Polystyrene 1st choice polyprop (loads to choose from ) PET very good I like some of the old ERO 1837 radial or 1839 axial and the 1822 are also good I have them in my pre amp ATM, all made by Vishay now.
For electrolytics in the signal path I also like Elna Silmic2 and Nichicon Muze KZ, the Nichicon fine Gold are also very nice for everything else in the audio boards and KX/ KG for power supplies . Panasonic FM are also good and come in higher voltages
Mil Spec Wet tantalum are also very good in certain positions like feed back cap (I dont like solid tants in audio path though they are hard and grainy)

Panasonic FC are good for general controls circuits

For Bi-polar caps I like Nichicon ES

If you have to use ceramic caps anywhere use the COG types as the have much less noise

Hifi Collective or mouser have good stocks of caps
