I had been looking for a new power amp for a long time now and had listened to a few, these being Bryston,ATC,Plinius and VTL ST 150 but always felt what was i getting for the outlay over the Krell KSA 100 so i decided to keep it.
I then looked at the M100 turbo that Colin Wonfor was selling and so he came round and we had a day trying both amps he kindly let me have it for a demo. After a week of swapping cables between the two i came to the conclusion that i could not give the amp back to Colin and had to buy it.The M100 was easily the best amp i had heard compared to the others.
The M100 just sounds so right, clear and dynamic with no hint of being clinical. At times when i play it i hear something on the track that i'd never heard before.Colin was a delight to deal with and i would not hesitate dealing with him again.

Superb result. I'm glad you got to hear the EWA in the end. I suspected it would take an amplifier of that calibre to challenge your Krell, especially knowing first hand how good it is
Enjoy the new amp and let me know what you're doing with the Krell [emoji6]

Got a certain magic haven't they, Valves.
Trouble is it's so expensive to replace them. Just enjoy it mate.

John,
Glad your happy with the m100, im a tad jealous.
I love my m50 to bits....still wonder to myself just what the m100 would sound like in my system!!

I've got an M50 and it's a beast. It looks so small and innocent but it really delivers and drives my speakers with ease.
I'll be honest, I did want the M100, but couldn't afford the outlay and even though I bet it's the dogs, I probably wouldn't be able to do it justice in my current home as I rarely get to really push the sound up loud.

My M50 goes helluva loud without distorting.
Out of interest, what pre amp are you using with it?

I'm using a passive pre, custom built with a 10k stepped attenuator.

Interesting.....i havent tried my m50 with anything other than my tq claymore.
Might experiment with my passive pre amps just out of interest.

John,
I have a number of passive pre amps....tisbury/tvc promethious/bte, my son has a croft pre that would let me inject some valve loveliness into the equation.
Could be a bit of fun....
I would be lying if i said i was disapointed with what i have sonically...but always up for some experimentation.

Hi John how is the Q20P pre amp with the monster?
Your new Phono amp is on it way waiting for chassis.

Colin i have been using the q20p as a pre instead of as a phono stage and i can't believe how good this tiny box is.It is detailed but not clinical in any way and vocals just seem to go on longer. You have now got me thinking how good is the m50 pro pre. This q20p is amazing and a bargain
