Hi all,

I have 2 CD3s. And though I am enjoying listening to this player, it seems there may be untapped potential waiting to be released in this player. Having read the Lampizator site (http://www.lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/REFERENCES/Cambridge%20CD3/Cambridge%20Audio%20CD3%20CD%20player%20TDA1541A.h tml) about certain output stage upgrades and possible NOS mods, I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to how this design could be further improved?

My thoughts so far:

Replace caps on transports with OSCONs
Invest in a Rock Clock + Clock PSU from Net Audio
Apply some stiffer regulation about the place (NewClassD has nice options but there may be others).

I'm not sure what to make of the NOS potential of the player since its DAC/Filter implementation is not ordinary (it has 4 TDA1541A chips tied together in parallel I believe (http://www.flickr.com/photos/76664227@N00/4577766767/in/set-72157623996705314/)). I'm also not sure how to tackle the output stage, currently opamps on each DAC board.

Thanks for any help.

Is it worth swapping out the Siderealkaps in the output stage?
