Cheers Chris, I've recently been tempted by a Nad amp but I vaguely recalled that thread, according to Nad, ,ALL Amps can be repaired? Hmm .edit , any Nad device can be repaired, that's from Nad

I doubt that NAD themselves would repair amps over a certain age due to lack of spare parts stockpiled.
Also, whilst it may be possible to repair an old amp, using non-standard or non-original components etc, it gets to the point where you also have to ask if its financially sensible/viable to do so. The 'throwing good money after bad' angle.
There are quite a few threads on Diyaudio about failed NAD amps, a lot of them are in relation to the protection circuit. They are fixable but have a look and see what would be involved. These are just a few, there are probably many more threads.
