Hello all from sunny Nottingham.
I stumbled across AOS a few weeks ago and have been mopping up the vast amount of knowledge on the various forums so, encouraged by Stan ( as I recently bought a Caiman), I thought I'd better step out of the shadows!
I'm going to be picking your brains as I'm a technophobe when it comes to the bits inside the boxes and, hopefully I can contribute but first here's summat about myself -
I like hi-fi and first became interested in the 70's but didn't have much money back then, my first system being a Philips turntable/Teleton amp/Wharfedale Denton speakers - not really hi fi - then I went and got wed and muliplied which very much put paid to that hobby! I did, though, sneak the odd 'box' into the house over the years and by the end of the 80's had the following system -
Mission PCM 4000 CD/Dual CS-505 turntable/NAD tape deck/Cyrus 2/Wharfedale Ritz Diamonds
I added a Rega Planar 3 a couple of years later.
Now in my middle years the old interest has re-kindled and I've recently bought a Squeezebox Duet and the Caiman.
My musical taste centres around blues, and blues influenced guitarists, rock and some metal.
I also like to twang a little blues on guitar but nothing to get excited about!
For those of you who like footie, I'm also a Derby County supporter so you'll understand, if nothing else, I'm a tenacious so and so.
Anyhow, I'll sign-off before I bore you all to tears and see you in the forums,
Ta ta,
Chris
