Fantastic sounding and highly respected upsampling valve dac. This example has been modded by John Sampson of JS Audio, ex MF head of servicing, who is regarded as the specialist for upgrading these units. Shortly after I purchased it from the first owner a couple of years ago it developed a fault in one channel so I sent it back to John who diagnosed a failing valve. I had all 4 of the valves replaced by him so that it should keep the new owner happy for many years to come. I'll try and get some inside pics up at some point. There are a couple of small marks on the front I've tried to show in the photos.

As the result of an ongoing major shift in my system I am passing this on to a new owner. It is fully boxed. Due to size and weight (massive) it is collection only from North London (not far from the M25) please. I should have said I'm asking the going rate for a non modded example with old valves so I think it's a very fair price. Note the valves on these are those tiny modern ones that are soldered in so it's not a simple job to replace.

Very nice dacs these, and yes thats a great price for a serviced one imo.

Thanks Vince. It also weighs more than most power amps I've owned. I believe the power supply, including the pair of big chokes at the top, is the same as they fitted to a big valve power amp of theirs.

I also think at least one of the toroids was added by John as part of the upgrade.
