View Full Version : Arcam alpha 9 amp and Cd

Picked these up a while ago and never got around to sorting the issues with them.

Firstly the amp has the usual selector knob issue. This hasn’t bothered me as I only use the one input through the tape selector. Other than that it’s fine , comes with remote.

Second but by no means least the Arcam Alpha 9 CD player. This is in fully functional, reads and plays any cds I throw at it.
It suffers with a low hum from the transformer though. Apparently this is fairly common and COULD by as simple a fix as rubber mounting the transformer. I’ve not looked into it though. And to be honest , when it’s in use in my room it’s at the other end to where we sit so it’s not bothered us. It is noticeable though when plugged in and only on standby.
