My Yamaha RX v675 is playing up again, so looking for a budget replacement to go with my Kef Egg speakers, the Denon AVR 2500h is available under £400, any thoughts?
Maybe sell the Kefs and get a set of actives and a sub if you want one. The Q Acoustics BT3 are pretty good. ive got a sub connected to mine on the dedicated output. has digital and analogue connections and bluetooth too. overall pretty good value and take up less room

Thanks Grant, will have a look, we only use the Receiver as the sound from the LG tv is pretty poor, and the wife would be happy with less speakers although I quite like the surround sound on movies. The Q Acoustics BT3 don’t appear to be available any more though.

Ruark do a similar set... It was between the 2 when i got mine. have to say for their size they are remarkably good. I expect the Ruark to be similar

Will have a look Grant, initially was only thinking of replacing the receiver but might look at the overall package now, maybe I should just go for a sound bar that would really please the wife.
used to have a big yamaha sound bar; was huge and sounded great but expensive and for most it was ott... had 40 odd speakers in it

Will probably look at replacing the receiver first off, then the speakers, the Kef eggs are old but have always sounded ok

Perhaps look around at the Marantz NR series, SHMBO will appreciate its small footprint, oh and best is they sound good.

If you want to use your Primare for the front speakers the 1509 has pre-outs for front speakers.

Cool, I only have one room for both, so found this useful :)
