Way Down In The Hole - John Cambell
Acoustics is something else, everyone who heard it here, wants the track just for Demo of their system, but you have to have a good system to do it justice.

+1 for this. Even brings a tear to my eye if it catches me at the right moment.
Also "Firth of Fifth" from Genesis' "Seconds Out".
Great thread, Allen :)

The live version of Woman of the ghetto by Marlena Shaw
Summertime by Ella & Louis
And a little more modern, Videogames by Lana Del Ray.
Seems to be a Genesis theme going on :) So I may as well add to it:
Genesis: Blood on the Rooftops (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeZRdd_1b4g) (Wind and Wuthering)
XTC: Greenman (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjMoWxwW8tQ) (Apple Venus)
Vaughan Williams: Lark Ascending (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR2JlDnT2l8)
J.S Bach: Mache dich, mein Herze, rein (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sZgnrYYOm4) (St Matthews Passion)
Barber: Adagio for Strings (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85U7xNaaZD8) (all of it!!!!)
Thelonious Monk In Walked Bud (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuHjgKQDofs) (Misterioso)
Johnny Cash - Hurt.

Another vote for this track. I like the Nine Inch Nails version but Johnny Cash's is very special, even more so with the video

That is one of the most unusual and interesting cover versions I've ever heard, I've never come across it before.

'After the Ordeal' by Genesis.
That is one of the most unusual and interesting cover versions I've ever heard, I've never come across it before.I think as a cover it feels like a completely different song. I know plenty of covers have that feature (All Along the Watchtower for example) but Glory Box is always more special to me.
I love both versions but there's so much soul in Martyn's version.

Gorecki no 3 largo.
All of this movement, but the female voice in the middle gets me every time. Wonderful music.

Arvo Part ; Spiegel Im Spiegel
All of this !
This is my favourite version

You are absolutely right, it feels like a completely different song. I think I heard a few tweaks to the lyrics too.

This just blows me away
The late great Donny Hathaway, a tortured soul, the legend, the voice - ..... Someday We'll All Be Free.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8xINki195I
Whereas Fratres gets me.

Yes, thats a nice piece of music.
But it doesn’t give me that kind of haunting beauty vibe, that gets to the hairs on the back of the neck, which Spiegel Im Spiegel, and Gorecki 3 both do.
