Anyone here used to own a pair? Any good?

Boring DSJR - been there and done a lot of it - yawn.....
Yep, we had these on dem for a while and they were pretty nice I remember. Good solid boxes but like many KEFs by this time, they needed some driving. Lively speaker cables suggested - Chord Odyssey was favourite. The floor standing RDM3 wasn't so well integrated, but could sound ok with Odyssey on the bass and the thinner Rumour cable on the upper sockets.

One man's boring is another man's smooth. Each to their own!

I never said they were boring, just that they needed a bit of driving - just like my favourite ATC passive models do...
One thing they *don't* have which many modern KEFs seem to have, is an artificially lifted hf end, which can bleach out tonalities a bit. They're just not quite as 'universal' as say, Mission 751's were (I'm thinking of another good looking speaker from around or slightly before this time)

My father uses KEF LS50's. He's had them now for almost 2 years. My god they give out a big open sound. Bass is punchy too, almost floor-stander like.
