Hello all.

I've decided to buy a Chord integrated and I'm after some decent matching speakers to use.

I've heard the following:-

Focal Chorus 836V
Wilson Benesch Arcs
Monitor Audio GS10
Dali (but can't remember the model only the price at £12000)

I've been recommended to listen to ATC and Neat. Thing is, I would like something that has very sensitive, around the 90db 1m, just so I can experiment later with a valve amp.

It would be interesint to know what you use with your Chord.

Cheers
Joe

I'm sticking my neck out here, but what about some Sonus Faber Cremona's if you can find them? Pretty easy load, gorgeous looks and a clean, slightly dry balance which the Chord shouldn't lose..

Three way ATC's are NOT RECOMMENDED by me, or anyone else who's heard the passive compared to active. better to find some good used PMC MB1's if you can, which seem far better in passive form, although they look horrid in a domestic environment and need the 20" or so stands..

Well, mine sure works well with my Infinity RS2.5 ribbon hybrids. :)

Unusually for me, I've had these speakers a loooooong time ... so I haven't tried the Chord amp with any others.

But, the Chord amp is clean - detailed - controlled - taut, unbloomy bassed - & slightly on the sweet side of neutral.
As I said in my review/blog, it's probably the 'purest' sounding solid state amp I have owned.
It has 120wpc into 8 ohms, & so should be happy driving most speakers in a medium sized room.

A guy on Wigwam has the CPM2600 and he uses it with large Tannoys (Canterbury's, I think) which would meet your 'easy to drive' criterion. I believe he is very pleased with the combo.

I would think that the world is the mollusc of your choice!

haha... 1000pts for using "mollusc" in the thread Jerry!... Nice one!

Ahh.. I'll keep looking, I would love some Sonus Fabers, they do sound nice I know. I can't wait to get it plugged in matey! :)
