That depends on the amps.
I am looking for a used GamuT Power amp, audio research or Classe Power amp to drive my b&w802.
I’m currently using my old Krell80 pure class A to drive them. But the sound doesn’t right. It’s all holdups and compressed sound.

And help and suggestion will be appreciated.

Hi Mickey, welcome to AoS.

I read somewhere on this forum recently that Krell amps do not like mains blocks/conditioners etc as it strangles the sound or something (can't remember who said it). Anyway, if you're using any such thing it may be worth plugging the Krell directly into the mains and see if that helps.

Quite right.
In my experience with Krell power amps any sort of mains conditioning or filtering will result in the compressed sound that you seem to be describing, Mickey. Although I'm not sure what a holdup is.
Plug 'em straight into the wall. :thumbsup:

Thank you Steve . Yes I did plugged it to a conditioner block. Silly me. I will try to plug it direct to the wall. Will confirm the Different later on.

Hi Jerry . By saying “ holdups “ I meant the midrange is lacking, the bass is round, less punching. it felt like something holding it back. It doesn’t sound like before. Before the soundstage is huge , airy, clarity and the deep,punching bass.
Anyway, thank you for your advice. I will try to plug it direct to the wall and will confirm the difference. Fingers crossed.
