Well as the amp is spares or repairs an Amstrad midi system would sound better you can probably find something similar on rubbish day if you look round [emoji23]

My Audio Note ANJ's came to less then that lot now thats hard to beat no joke £40 in 2013 - £20 to refoam the drivers and still using them today they are on as i type..plenty of gear gear out their you just have to time it right ..

That certainly was a bargain.

Mind you I've posted links to a whole system, which even allowing extra for cables, costs less than some people spend on a fuse or plug

I've got a mint Pioneer PL-15 in the loft that cost me £3 at a boot sale, a tidy pair of Philips MCD708 ribbon tweeter compact speakers that also cost me £3 from a charity shop and my lovely little Technics SU-C04 integrated amp at £4 from a boot sale. So that's £10 for the whole system.

(the amp is the best bit actually, sounds like a Sugden A21)

I had a pair too, can't say I was that impressed either even though I had the "i" version too, it seems fuel injection doesn't help sound quality much

They're also the only pair of speakers I've ever had (and there've been quite a few) that just stopped working. Did the obvious thing and looked for loose wires inside but there was nothing obvious wrong, chucked 'em in a skip.

I had the Gale 4i’s as well, the first speaker I ever bought, I wholeheartedly agree with the above opinions of them! After quite a few years of being used as plant pot stands at my parents house, they are now back in use in their system.
