Hello all I am based in Liverpool and have loved music all of my life . Started taking equipment seriously from around eighteen and bought my first what I thought was a good system . Many items have passed through my hands since then but I am not really a serious box swapper as much of my main equipment has been in place for over ten years.
I recently finally bought a pair of Quad ESL57 speakers after having loved them since I first heard them but convinced that they would not work in my room and my system . Having been shown the error of this by another enthusiast I bought a pair and then sent them to A Quadthing Limited for a full refurbishment up to better than new specification including a respray in my preferred black . They are now finished and ready to be collected this Friday so hopefully a prospect of a really full music weekend .
Main system - Logitech Squeezebox Touch Clone (Raspberry Pi / Just Boom Digi Hat / 7 inch Touch screen) - Theta Basic CD Transport - Concordant Exhilirant Pre - Metrum Quad DAC - MiniDSP DDRC 24 - Dirac Live DSP unit - Krell KSA50 Power Amplifier - Quad ESL57 Speakers
Second System - Rasberry Pi / Just boom Digi Hat - MiniDSP DDRC 24 Dirac Live - Pair Quad 405 Power Amplifiers - Active KEF 103 Reference speakers
I have only very recently got involved in converting speakers to active use and have found this to be both a good learning experience and a very big step forward in sound quality
