Reed 3p 12" tonearm for sale.

I am reductantly moving away from vinyl. So I have some top notch goodies coming up for sale.

First off is my pristine Reed 3P 12" arm. It's in absolutely mint condition.

It comes with its presentation box and all accessories.

It would be shipped with UPS priority insured shipping so isn't cheap to post - this can be confirmed once I know where it's going but it will be at least €100 euros.

I'm asking €2,900 for this stunning bit of engineering (on the fly VTA, azimuth adjustment etc).

All my vinyl front end will be for sale - reluctantly. The Vida is listed separately. The Sp10 and Allearts will be the last to go.

I cannot say how good the Reed is - it was my dream arm. But I'm opening a second school here in Spain and need cash.

Just a word about it..

Use - an absolute dream. It is amazing how that pivot point works - zero friction but rigid like a normal pivot so it handles like a dream.

Functionality - again amazing. Every parameter can be adjusted during play without worry, the engineering is superb. As is the arms geometry.

Sound - having owned conventional armwands I've also tried a number of wooden, some warm, but the Reed no.
It has an open, spacious quality with beautiful extension at the top. Lower down it goes deep and remains utterly in control.
Vocals are sublime, raspy brass is brassy, deep reggae is deep reggae etc. It is consistent across all genres.

Looks - stunning, from any angle.

If my system were my kids the Reed would be the pretty one.

A couple of people have asked what I'm replacing this with (and the Vida listed elsewhere) as though I must have found something better. This is not the case. I had a lengthy chat with Tom about this and as he knows there are many factors leading me to sell - items I know in the future I can easily get hold of again because they are still in production.

The Sp10 is a superb, recapped example and the plinth is a work of genius - this would be very hard to replace. The allearts can be bought new but costs 3 times what I payed for it, so I'd prefer to put it away for the future. Although they are my escape mechanism should I need to.

For me, after years of chasing exotica I found what are genuine bargains for their quality in all areas and truly deliver what they promise - but opening a school is not cheap, lawyers, architects, equipment - I'm around 5 k short. Weighing up the extra revenue of a new school replacing the Vida and Reed with another won't be a problem.

There are other reasons, I've moved house and have old suspended floors that shake when you sneeze - seriously.

So yes, this is a genuine sale for a genuine reason.
