I've a lovely pair of Fostex TH600 headphones.
The previous owner had the stock 1/4 inch jack plug replaced 'professionally' with a 1/8th inch jack.
But it doesn't seem to have been a very good job, and the contact can be intermittent.
Can someone with the soldering skills that I lack have a look and redo the job?
Happy to pay, of course.
Mucho thanks. :)
Might be a poor plug to socket contact. There doest seem to be any great accuracy in 3.5mm plugs

Ah, that could be.
Difficult / impossible to tell where the break is, could be a poor fit of plug into socket, I guess. Maybe a slightly non standard 1/8 inch jack has been fitted?
But problem does persist on a range of sockets that I've used.

Many thanks, Alex. I am sure that a trip to Hereford can be organised. I'll drop you a PM.
Following Grant's comments I'm not sure if a straight re-solder or a new jack plug is needed?
Could also be in the cable near plug. Need to try and see alas. I've got an expensive one to twin rcas that does this. The plug is never nice and tight
I have found the same issue with some headphone plugs and the adapters
