Toshiba SD-9500E

Swore I'd never sell this but I just don't use it , a great CD player on it's own I used it as a transport with the big Arcam DAC top quality play back.
They were £2400 rrp doesn't mean much now but you know no expense was spared .
I priced it against one on eBay's starting bid , mine's better .

You should be its a lovely item. I was very tempted to buy it to have a spare, but I already have its champagne gold previous brother, so that would have been greedy.

You should try getting some DVD Audio discs, as that is why I have mine.

I hope its a good un , I have not used a DVD player as a CD player ?

I mostly listed to vinyl you remember Proper music :D

Well its main strength is DVD A, it was among the last of the great dedicated DVDA devices from one of the Japanese majors. Its a good DVD player and has a good DAC, and also pretty good at HDCD decoding. It sounds better from its balanced outputs, though I use mine as DVDA transport into a Esoteric D5 DAC which can decode the DVDA discs. Never tried it as a CD player, so I have no idea how good it is at that.

I think we can all remember a truly wonderful sonic experience and my most memorable was using the Tosh as a transport into my Arcam D33 DAC and I had CS&N Demos playing , it is a HDCD , the lights were off ,glass of red and I was spellbound by the sound , can't remember anything that good in my room .

Mine was a Shanling with HDCD decoding and King Crimsons In the Court of The Crimson King. In saying that I had a wonderful experience this afternoon with Dead Can Dance Into The Labyrinth and Spirit Chaser.

Avoid lifting it out via the front, keep your hands away from where the disc loads, also there must be space for the front to drop as it does to allow the tray to come out.

Wow that was quick , but there is a reason.
My UPS Access point was in accessible due to road works so I went to the main depot .

Yes the front screen drops down and then the tray comes out , lovely mechanism .

:eek: Blimey, That is a super cool CD player , Its built on a copper chassis :eyebrows: Will have to take the top off and have a look inside ,

A quick look shows a sub output , time to read the manual me thinks .

As you say a lovely door mechanism super smooth :)
