Up for sale are my JBL L40's.

Owned for 18 months roughly after buying them from Manny (vinyl) on here.

I've loved these speakers and can't praise them enough, great dynamics and for me anyway there's just something about the JBL sound.

They are in good cosmetic condition, not perfect but I found no need to mess about with them. The cabinets have some marks but nothing that couldn't be sorted easily. (I've tried to show in the photos) They were recently professionally reconed before I bought them. All drivers are in superb condition, the L pads work as they should and they sound fabulous. They have their original bare wire rear terminals still. They come with matching covers though one does have a small hole in it (both have their JBL badges on them).

I'd like £375.00 for them.

I'm based in Liverpool and can demo to anyone interested.

I will not ship them but might consider local delivery if it seals the deal.

I'm only letting these go as I've recently moved up to some L50's & can't really keep both.

I do travel to see family down south every now and then so maybe that could help anyone Kent / Surrey / london surrounding areas make a decision.

Thanks for the comments guys,

I've had them back in my system for a couple of weeks now and they sound very good. If there's no interest in a few weeks time I will happily keep hold of them.

I sold this pair to Ben and they are easily one of my favourite speakers ever and I've also heard them do serious justice in other systems (eg the wam pie show at Scalford some years ago). Critics have a lot to answer for when it comes to apprasing JBL sonics and you really need to hear them sing yourself.

My Flickr account still has my original pics taken in natural daylight as they are difficult to photograph;

They certainly were impressive, easily one of the best and most natural sounds at the show imo.

Lovely speakers and a snip at the price. If I didn't have speakers coming out me ears, I'd have them.

I love my jbl L26. I have deemed them worth upgrading the crossovers, etc.
And bought a pair of 4312mk2 today.

I reckon vintage jbls are like alfa romeo.
They should be tried at least once, as they are luvly speakers.

There was a comment on here or the wam about this year’s wam show.
It mentioned the room with the L40.
Seem to have gone down very well.
