View Full Version : How unlucky?
One of colleagues cars was written off in early December when a drink driver crashed into while it was parked outside work.
His brand new replacement car was delivered on Friday and yesterday morning his wife was hit head on by another drunk driver almost certainly writing off their new car.
What are the chances?
not very likely is it... odds must be into millions

What are the chances?
Probably pretty fair around here. That's why my insurance is so high!
The problem is inexperienced drink drivers. Most of the year it's the same people who drive drunk and they are used to doing it. But come Xmas all the people with no drink driving experience decide they want to have a go at it too and then it usually ends badly.

The problem is those who drink and then choose to put others lives at risk. Don't care whether they are experienced or not. Stop doing it¡

Of course. However what I posted was my uncle's explanation for the problem. He was a policeman and, in his own words, an 'experienced drunk driver'. He did not appreciate all the amateurs giving him a bad name.

Not really receptive to jokes about drink driving since a drunk mounted the pavement and killed a family friend leaving her two kids without a mother!

In 1987 I bought my Dad a nearly new Vanden Plas Metro 1300 Automatic. It was immaculate. Soon after that on the Edgware Road Edgware, someone ran into the back of it. It went to the main dealership just off the Edgware Road to be repaired, I picked it up, just left the Rover Dealer travelling on the Edgware road, and, an Astra GTE went straight into the back of the Metro.
I live in California insurance is like a house payment here, You can not belive what you see on the road.
Lawyers and Tow truck drivers do very well .

Sounds like two attempts at mercy killing to me (the car not you or your Dad) what did he do to you to deserve being bought a Metro Vanden Plas?

Actually, it was, and still is a nice little car, unfortunately, Dad passed away in 1991.

I had two Metros. They were dead reliable and took me all over the country cheaply. Good ride for a small car too. Passed both on to my daughter.

I waxoyled and undersealed the car thoroughly, so, to this day it's still in good condition.

I dare say she might be pissed off by the suggestion she was unfaithful before going out with you! You sound a bit "needy" on this evidence!:D

Me and my best mate at school had the same girlfriends half the time, either me or him just after the other, I never held it against him. We eventually fell out when I tried to talk to his morbidly obese and depressed current one about her weight a few days after my step father died of complications from diet-induced diabetes, which he thought was out of order. Fuck them both I decided.

Never liked the term morbidly obese. To me it Contradictory in general.
