Just joined the group.
I am, at the moment, a frustrated owner of a Michell Orbe with an Origin Live Encounter MK3C arm and Lyra Delos cartidge, feeding a Cyrus Phono Signature and PSX-R2 PSU. Amplification is a Primare i30, driving a lovely pair of Ivan Leslie's S2TLK CD3 Ribbon Transmission Line speakers taht I built and veneered in a nice light oak.
I have horrible hum, but only at certain points across the record. Those points move relative to the record if I unclamp the arm and rotate it to a new position.
I've tried all the ideas I have come across around re-positioning the TT motor, phono stage and PSU, and the cables. I've grounded and ungrounded the arm.
I have a carbon fibre sweep arm that I've grounded and ungrounded.
Next step is that I have sent the 2yr old arm back to Origin Live to check to make sure the ground wire is still intact and everything else ok with the arm.
Fingers crossed, that will crack it (the problem, not the arm!).

welcome Martin. sounds like a cable issue somewhere, probably in or just outside of the arm. probably near the pivot point.

Yep, that's where I've landed, so hopefully OL will sort it out and I can get back to listening to good noises, rather than bad ones!

Hello Martin. Welcome to AOS.

I'm sure with OL's help you'll sort the hum problem but you may like to start a thread in the Analogue Arts section outlining the issue, I'm sure members can give plenty of opinions.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
There seem to be a lot of knowledgeable people here so keen to learn how I can make things better.
Thanks for the tip on the Analogue Arts section - I'll drop a post in.
