Anyone have experience of modifying an MF V-Can headphone amp (version 1) and/or can offer advice?
Currently it has too much gain and I can barely open the pot before it gets too loud.

I will be googling it to see if there's anything out there but just wondered if anyone had already done such...

I'm sure something could be done to reduce the gain.
A schematic would help a lot but otherwise a little tracing of the feedback components.

Not had much luck with Google re schematics (or anything much at all for V-Can) but will keep poking around tomorrow ....

Excellent. Did you find a schematic?

No schematics - but a guy in Scotland sells an upgrade kit for the V-Can and mentions the gain resistor details on his website.
If it works, might well invest in his kit - full caps upgrade (if he still sells it)

Just to add closure to this - done the modifications just now (two resistors and two caps) and the result is spot on!!

Much improved range on the volume control ... and also some added clarity. The guy at Rock Grotto certainly knows his onions :thumbsup::thumbsup:
