Does anyone have a good quality 12V power supply with jack compatible with the Caiman 1 for sale - must be better performance than the standard OEM PS? The original OEM power supply of my beloved Caiman 1 creates a slight hum through my Linx Stratos mono amps when the DAC is powered up even on a different main source. I've never had a problem with any other amps before and I've had the DAC for many years now. I have a Anker battery pack bought for a Caiman 2 but the supplied jack is incompatible with the Caiman 1......I sold the Caiman 2 because I preferred the less refined but more vibrant presentation Caiman 1 as it reminded me of my much missed Naim CDX. Thanks!

If it's just the Jack that's different why couldn't you change the Jack ?

Yes, I had a look for the right jack to use with the Anker but couldn't find one that I am sure would fit (the Caiman 2 has a different power jack) - also I'm currently using the old Anker to power my WXAD10 streamer.
Read the threads about power supply upgrades and thought there might be someone who might have one they want to get rid of.

You could get a 2.1mm to 1.3mm adapter in order to use the Caiman II PSU with the TC-7520.
And if you are feeling lucky, you can use the Dorado PSU at 12V, plus the above adapter to get an even better sound improvement for the TC-7520.
If you have an old Netgear router with the power supply that looks like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NETGEAR-AC-AD-ADAPTER-330-10102-01-DV-1280-3UK-Output-12V-DC-1A-Power-Supply/273443803877?hash=item3faa8552e5:g:s2EAAOSwN~Zbj9N 2:rk:5:pf:1&frcectupt=true
then you are also in luck. Again, use it with the above adapter. I am amazed how good that Netgear PSU is on the TC-7510, 7520, Bushmaster, and Caiman MKII DACs.

Thanks Stan - is this the correct adaptor https://www.amazon.co.uk/5-5mm-Female-Adapter-Converter-Jack-Camera-Black/dp/B00NLCAP22? Sorry for selling on the Caiman 2 I bought from you, as wonderful as it was, I just preferred the liveliness of the Caiman 1 (I think it has a Gator board fitted). Will look at the Dorado PS you mentioned, I had missed this coming out. Thanks again. Rana

Stan, Wou;d you recommend the Netgear PSU or your Low Noise Linear PSU for use with the Dorado/TC-7534?
(I ordered a Dorado without PSU, thinking I could use the original PSU)

Thanks, Simon.

Have you tried a 12v battery, I had a Mark Grant psu and sold it after I listened to my SEG with a battery and i'll never go back to a powered psu.

I'll find out soon if I get the right jack. Agree that 12V Anker battery solution worked well with a Caiman 2 and also Chromecast that I didn't even bother trying the as supplied PSU with my little Yamaha streamer. But the Caiman 1 + original PS sounds just right (to me) as it is - hopefully the battery solution does not "smooth out" the vibrancy that I like about it.
