Has anyone compared Concept 20's to the cheaper models? Did you detect any big differences soundwise?
I'm thinking between the 3020i & Concept 20.
S.
I have had 4 different Q Acoustics speakers, currently I have both Concept 40s in the living room and Concept 20s in the bedroom. The first QA speaker I had was the 2020i which was very good for the low price, it’s quality prompted me to move on to the Concept 20s, the high tech cabinet takes the 2020i drivers to a different level fully vindicating the the higher price and I’m a firm believer it is the best compact stand mount under £300. They did in fact for a short time replace the QA 3050s that I was using in the living room and although a cheaper speaker they beat the 3050s in the midband and treble although obviously they were no match for them in the bass. I then realised my perfect speakers had to be the Concept 40s but obviously at a much higher price, they have proved to be exactly what I needed, just as the Concept 20s are perfect for me in the bedroom setup. It just goes to show how important having a cabinet that adds nothing to the sound.
When I was considering the Concept 20 I also thought about the 3020 and 3020i so I contacted QA tech support and asked for their opinion, the guy who responded said if it was his money he’d go for the Concept 20s every time, surprising considering the Concept 20s are the older of the models, I took his advice and I’ve never regretted it.

Thanks for sharing, Steve.
Are the 20's fairly easy to drive?
S.
Dead easy and they don’t need much power.
