View Full Version : Yours for the cost of postage - a poorly little valve pre-amplifier

This arrived here with the Firebottle phono stage I’ve just sold. I understand that it’s a Chinese pre that Alan made some clever alterations to, but sadly it was DOA. Two inputs, the valves you can see and some further mini bottles inside.
Anybody want a play with it? No idea what’s wrong, could be a simple fix.
Cover the cost of postage and it’s yours.

Perfect, nice one Andy. I’ll be able to put that valve that I was going to send to you about six years ago and never did  :)

I'm here if you need help.
The valves should light up, if not check the rear fuse.
The valves run at +/- 32V, I've a circuit if you need it. The miniature valves have a heater voltage of 1.5V and are run from a bias of 5V from a regulator.
Merry Christmas all!

Thanks Alan, I may well be in touch .
Merry Christmas
