Most of you lot (in secret) probably already know about Z Reviews. He mainly does reviews on headphones and is worldwide renown for it. But has also reviewed speakers/subs & amps etc. Think he's also done some DIY stuff as well. I absolutely love his apartment!

One of the things I like about Z is that he doesn't mince his words, just tells it like it is. He's a little rude at times and lacks a tad sophistication. But still informative with it at the same time.

Without doubt a true love/hate character.

Any fans here?

I quite like his taste in screensavers.

I did have a look and thought he was the most irritating of all those mentioned so far.

Yup, I think I've only seen the first few minutes of a couple of his offerings yonks ago (looking for LS50 info), unbelievably irritating - and what's with the camera, is it on his head?

Utter, utter pillock

There's really only John Darko and Zero Fidelity who make any sense and a lot of the time I don't agree with JD, but at least he's not irritating like the rest of them.

Can't remember his name but the only one I really enjoy watching is an Asian guy, can't remember his name, think he might be in Hong Kong. He's top entertainment and his infectious love for what he does is quite amusing. And he also tells you when stuff is bad as well as good, very few others do that. But it's entertainment, nothing more really.

I take what any of them say with a pinch of salt - you can't rely on anything they tell you. Bit like a satnav, OK as a guide to point you in the right direction, but you still need to be able to read a map and make your own decisions to avoid ending up down a dead end.

Twould be great if he did, little chance of him entering my life then :D

But most people that know me, already know I'm a pillock

Well, I tried watching 3 or 4 reviews, but the annoying headmounted camera stopped me getting very far into any of them.

I’ve seen a lot of his review videos, mainly of lower priced Chinese amps and DACs, he’s pretty well versed and informative usually, I don’t find the head mounted camera a problem particularly as it gives a great insight into how much gear he has in one room.
Anyone heavily into vinyl should check out the HifiVinylNews channel on Youtube hosted by a guy called Ian who lives in Singapore, he’s done dozens of Turntable, Cartridge and Phono Stage reviews and is a mine of useful information.

I have to agree with you on that one Grant. The better you know the reviewer, the more you can depend on the review.

Most You Tube stuff is utter nonsense. I can't be having with it. As to reviews on there? Well, never seen any, never likely to. I tend these days only to listen to the opinion of those I know and respect and, occasionally, the likes of Stereophile as they usually have good test results to go with their subjective report.
