Anyone here watch his YouTube content or read his reviews? Interesting chap. He used to sell Hi-Fi many moons ago.

I subscribe to his Youtube channel. I like his posts. As with most opinions - I don't share them all. But I find them interesting.

I prefer him to the PS Audio guy, but that's not saying much.

I like this description of him, typical salesman.

It's surprising how many of these people who write about hi-fi professionally know jack shit about it. Although I suppose the PS Audio bloke does have his tat to flog so I can see why he does what he does.

+1 Today's reviewers talk a load of tosh. I suspect few attend concerts and know what real instruments sound like.

PS Audio is anything but tat. Grumpy much.

Know, what how stuff works? And not knowing invalidates listening experience? It doesn't. I used to know lots and be all excited about technical stuff. These days I don't care. Its how it sounds, that is what matters.

She's certainly different. Very geeky.

Gonna try listening with headphones now to check out her binaural recordings...

I quite like him, reminds me of the "dad" in Different Strokes. (What you talkin' bout Willis?)

Hm interesting.

Listening to the video posted above using some AKG 702s, I can hear something very similar to an AN/E based system. Somewhat generous, warm bass, not particularly tight, indicative of cabinet resonance and low power AN amplification IMHO. Easy on the ear. Coloured without a doubt.

Indeed the DeVore 0/96 has a frequency response that is very similar to AN/Es. It is also more efficient than an AN/E. I'm not sure how similar this setup is technically to the 0/96.

If you freeze frame on the back of the speaker shot, knobs do not appear to be set to 0. Impossible to deduce what's going on with those for me at least. If you owned a pair you'd know.

Anyway, I think she is capturing the basic sound of this system with her binaural Alfredo head. Impossible to know for sure, without having been there, but I believe it is far better than most YT videos of hi-fi systems sound wise. Pretty cool.

You must use a decent set of cans for this, I reckon. Gonna try her AG vdeo next.

I subscribe to Earspace, quite refreshing IMHO.

Im not a fan of AV showreports

I like Analogplanet

Lots of guff on YT.

Unboxing, tours of manufactures, walkthroughs of systems/rooms also useful.

Im off now to get my ARC SP10 repaired and upgraded to 2019 spec (tube bluetooth...):)

I watched Steve Guttenberg's video on the subject of whether super expensive cables are snake oil this morning, it put me right off him.

Don't think I'll bother watching any more based on how he came across in that one.

I don’t mind either of them, very different things. Jana is cool, I like the premise and her presentation (I don’t find her geeky at all). I don’t agree with everything SG says though I recognise where he is coming from (even if I would alter the emphasis slightly).

I quite like him too (SG), passion and enthusiasm for something one loves is no bad thing and he talks a lot of sense without being overbearing. I saw him give a very good talk on YouTube at a RMAF about budget HiFi and how the get youngsters into audio. Very good presentation.

Jana is great, I love female geeks they seem a lot more level headed than a lot of male geeks.

Funny, like any of us can really talk, we spend time on an audio forum(and yes, it is a nice place to meet and chat etc.)and drone on about a whole lot of silly ass shite too. Great stuff indeed!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all!
