You know it's taken a lifetime for me to come to terms with my identity, and I thought I'd finally arrived at a point where I was 'comfortable in my own skin'. But it turns out that I should be having periods. What wrong with me? Why can't I be normal? I'm not a good fit for this world, and I think it would be better without a freak like me in it.
I thought I may have got my period this morning, but it turned out to be piles. :(

I think information needs to be age appropriate and aimed at the right group, but that people are being made aware of the kind of diversitry in society is a good thing, as is the kind of issues that non CIS people face. That sort of information it would be hoped would help people understand, and have an appreciation of the difficulties in these peoples lives.
I know the article has been titled in such away to make people raise eye brows and in such away that it can create an adverse reaction. The simple fact is a non binary person or trans male person can indeed have periods. A trans man, who has not had surgery or hormone treatment will still have periods, so there is no factual error in providing that sort of information.
Gender identity is a complicated thing and its at times difficult to understand how other people feel about their gender, their journey to where they are at and how they arrived at the choices they have made. I know many will struggle with this but for some that journey began when they were young children so surely providing age appropriate resources and education to help in cases like that is a good thing, not a bad thing.
I think CIS Normative people, who may have had their own struggles in life would do well to try and be more understanding, and less judgemental regarding those who are non binary or trans, never mind the larger wealth of humanity out there.
Surely love, understanding and acceptance is better than hatred, judgement and intolerance, and surely education has its place in helping create that more positive world view.

perhaps understanding is better than hatred...but why teach this is mainstream schools? why do normal children need any education about this? how on earth can a boy have a period, unless he has been born with the female reproductive organs..Yes let's understand that there is transgenda people out there, but let there be special units for them to be educated...or will that cost too much money?.. our children have enogh to cope with, without being forced to learn about this type of thing at such an early age...

I don't think anyone is arguing the case for hatred or intolerance. You're always going to get a few people who get off on hating, no amount of education is going to help that. It used to be a rap in the mouth would shut them up but we're not supposed to do that either these days and now they can do their hating from the safety of the internet it's not even a possibility.
My only objection is the obvious nonsense of making up 32 new 'genders' and then teaching primary school children about it. And I don't care enough about that to actually do anything about it. Although if I did have children I'd tell them it was a load of cobblers. In fact I'd probably home school them to avoid it all anyway. Or do what one of my brothers did, get himself elected head of the governors and then run the school his way.

I thought the word 'gender' was based on the bits you were born with or whatever you've had them swapped for. I personally don't care if people want to give themselves other titles, just so long as they don't expect me to remember them all. Mr, Mrs, Miss or even Ms is all we need, surely.

Of course you are correct Barry. As is often the case, I struggled to find the appropriate word with which to make my point, and when I mistakenly used the word 'title' it sent me down a path which was [insert word here]*. if I'd taken the time to proof read my post I may have spotted this!
I stand by the first point I was making though, which when viewed from inside my head makes perfect sense :)

Despite what the packaging says, those Asda tampons aren't sufficiently absorbent to be used singly. I've found that if you glue four of them side-by side (so they resemble a Kit Kat) they can be very effective, even for a medium/heavy flow type like you. And surprisingly comfortable when doing your morning exercises - you can re-introduce lunges into your routine with confidence :)

I do try, but the more I see the likes of internet influencers, social media stars and idiotic pranksters (morons) being lauded the more I despair. I worked with a bunch of women in their early twenties a couple of years ago, their heros were Katie Price and Kim Kardashian. They were a nice bunch at heart, but they were also vain and obnoxious. I just don't know where the next generation of society is heading. Who of any worth do young people look up to now? What worthwhile aspirations do "millennials" have?

The bit about the back-to-front Tena pants reminds me of a party I once went to. I got very drunk, and eventually passed out. I don't remember anything after that, but the next morning I found that my underpants were on back to front. All the women had long since left, and all the blokes were studiously avoiding eye contact with me.
I got lots more party invites after that, but I decided to avoid absinthe for a while because it gave me a sore bum.

I would agree with you - but only if those people whose sexuality is not heterosexual, are raised knowing that there is nothing wrong with them; that it is perfectly natural. But sadly that is often not the way they are raised - to the confusion and upset of the person involved.

Regarding 'cross-dressing', fashionable or otherwise, why is it when women wear men's clothing they can still look feminine, but when men wear women's clothes they often just look ridiculous? Maybe my question betrays a prejudice of mine.
