View Full Version : Dynaudio Audience 10, any good?
As per title really.
Would they be an improvement over my Quadrals?
I know Dynaudio have a good reputation but reputations don't always sound good
If you like HiFi rather than music and your sound cold, sterile and clinical, you may love them!
As a breed, I've yet to hear a Dyn-Audio speaker that involves me in the music being played. I'm sure there's a model I might like, but I haven't heard any as yet. I did hear some large Confidence models recently and they sent me from the room with my hands over my ears (little deep bass, no 'body' at all and screaming mids and highs - for once I'm not blaming the Naim driving amps either, as recent exposure to (bang up to date) current product has pleasantly surprised me). Another forum poster who also heard them thought the sound the best he'd heard that afternoon, so there you go...
Each to your own. One speaker that did surprise and delight recently (not surprising for me really) is the ATC SCM 11, which has a bit more going about it than the baby SCM7, so isn't quite as power hungry and a delightful tonal balance that's clear but not screaming sharp - or thuddy-boomy on the other. The new tweeters really have transformed the high frequencies of this make of speaker and the mids are in fine clear balance these days it seems....
