I’ve recently purchased a Technics SL1200G so it’s time to say goodbye to my modified Technics SL1210 Mk2.
First off, you can see that the rotary power switch and speed slider have been removed. Then as you can see the whole plinth has been professionally painted (car body spray shop).
If you look very carefully, in certain lighting conditions and from certain angles, you may be able to spot the edges of the holes that have been filled as slight bumps in the paintwork. But it is overall an excellent finish and in superb condition.
The rubber base itself has a few light scuffs here and there but under normal lighting not really noticeable.
It has an external Paul Hynes SR3-21 power supply.
The internals and internal wiring are all very neat and tidy as you can see from the pictures.
The arm is a Jelco SA 750D which I bought brand new in 2015. It comes with the original box, paperwork, all original packaging and accessories. In the box you can see allen keys, original heavier counterweight and cartridge wires.
It’s mounted with an Ammonite improved Jelco collar, which is taller than the original and provided better support.
The armboard is a custom made Technics/Jelco board.
Also included, should you ever need it, is a Technics/SME board.
The feet are original Technics.
The mat is a proprietary felt – a new owner may wish to use something more fancy!
There’s also a little box of bits and bobs (including lid hinges and a selection of Technics nuts and bolts etc). Note that no lid is included.
There are loads of pictures here.

It looks superb and sounds fantastic. I’m only selling because I ‘upgraded’ to a new SL1200G. I would not want to try to tell the two setups apart in a blind test!
Now, at the moment, I really want to sell the whole lot as a bundle and for collection only, from here in Cheadle, Stockport, south Manchester. I may consider splitting and/or posting at a later date but packaging this thing up would be a right royal pain.
The asking price is £600.
