Hi all,

I am taking a bit of a step back from the vinyl side of things, as I can't seem to find a reasonable solution to keep a TT totally out of harm's way from my 15 month old Hellhammer. I really don't want to do this. I'd love to put it in storage, but that seems a bit silly. I will be going back to a Sony PS-6750.

It was up for sale last year, when i came to my senses. Since then,it has been rewired with KAB Superflex and the bearings upgraded to hybrid ceramic by Sir Angus of Phonomac and the results were excellent. I have also added an Oyaide BR12 rubber mat & Jelco copper litz headshell leads.

Technics SL1210 Mk2
Micro Seiki MA-202 w/- original headshell & Jelco leads
Speedy Steve ebony armboard
Mike New bearing
Timestep PSU
Isonoes
Oyaide BR12 mat

I am after £1,200 ono. For that I will include the Audio Origami lead, the puck thing and a very average cover.

Please drop me a line if you are interested.

I am in SE4 in London, but spend a lot of time in the SW. Would be happy to come to some kind of arrangement with the buyer.

there will be other turntables...

I have had a blast with this one and will be sad to so, see it go, but not as sad as I will be when I have to put an 16 month old child out on the street for bending a tonearm...

Hmm...i feel your pain.
When my kids were that age my stereo gear had to be locked away for a couple of years..

Brand new Nagaoka cart...set up in tonearm, only one side of an LP played to check alignment....next day, bent sideways.
Heybrook speakers...tweeters pushed in.
Nice silver Yamaha tuner...jam smeared.
VERY expensive JVC video recorder...constantly chewed tapes after i fished a toy car from deep inside the transport.

All these and more over a few months before i gave up.

Bless the little darlings/shits.

I have (almost) come up with a solution, but it leaves it like a dog's dinner. I have moved the amp and TT up onto a shelf, but the shelf is slightly too shallow, so I need a piece of acrylic under the 'table, there is a truckload too much wiring and the lid wont work, because of the tonearm wire. not to mention the bowing in the shelf from previously storing LPs.

hence moving back to the sony - no tonearm wire, no external psu and a integral lid. the lid might need to come off and the rcas on the back will prob mean that the tt will need to be an inch further forward, but I lose a box and the 2-3m of wiring that comes with it.

i'll have a listen to the sony with the hana/trilogy and make a decision on them. the denon dl109d is back on for the first time in ages and sounds sweet through the mm on the pioneer. (it does have me wondering why I have so much wedge tied up in all of this - and mine is a very modest set up!). it is how I got to the point of downsizing to a simple set up.

it will also free up some £££ that can go into my racing car build. anyway, enough.

buy this piece of awesomeness - your other half would love it for Christmas...
