I was about to recover my home made acoustic panels with some nice stripey black and white fabric but the staple gun is out of staples. Thought i would take a few pics instead of my main music system.

Sorry about the picture quality but my proper camera needs the battery charging. Still the wide angle setting on the LG5 is very useful.

A bit smaller than I would like or have been used to in recent years but a little bit of DIY room treatment means that it works very well

Looks very good.
The luxury of a music room, in my dreams. I did broach the subject with SWMBO once and the immediate response was that's a great idea you can move all your stuff out into the garage:doh:, you are certainly not using a spare bedroom - "they are bedrooms". I have not said anything since and remained embedded in the lounge.:eyebrows: :)

Can't you get a prescription from your GP declaring MUSIC ROOM as a medical necessity for HIGH ANXIETY? :uhho:
The first step is to replace a standard bed with a sofa bed ....

Ah yes! Humphrey. He is due for hs annual oiling and rub down. I think some tea tree oil this Christmas!
I was tempted to buy Nelly too, but thought better of it in the end!

Great space to relax and enjoy music, I could happily sit in there for hours. Love the colour scheme too, right up my alley :)

It helps that my house is detached and that this room is at the back of the house directly above the kitchen. It means that I can wind the wick up a bit without disturbing the neighbours or anyone else in the house.
The room sounds pretty good since I installed some home made acoustic panels. I made these from 100mm Rockwell acoustic wadding. I have two of these panels immediately behind my head in my listening chair and these have made a big difference. I made a couple of corner traps which I have placed above the record storage units. The heavy curtains have also helped, especially since I bought extra wide panels which reduce reflections from the window.
So too has mounting my Maggie speakers on a pair of home made plinths. These provide a much more stable base than simply resting the speakers on carpet. Raising them by about 10" has also helped to improve imaging. I am very pleased with the balance now: bass texture and extension has improved considerably.

Yes. From Okahandja Mbangura Woodcarvers Craft Market some 20 years ago. I don't normally buy knick knacks (although I have a large collection of naive art from countries I worked in) but I had a huge house in Windhoek that needed a few architectural pieces and this craft market had some really good carvers. It is still going strong ..

I resisted the temptation to buy some of the impressive huge carvings which look great in huge houses but are frankly ridiculous in most UK houses. Having said that, I also bought Gertrude, a 6ft giraffe who now resides in the hall.
