Son got my xmas pressie. Does that count. Was going to be a synology but that was not working right imo so went back. Got a nice Braun razor instead. Quite cool. Cleans itself too

Ha ha I just got a "black friday" deal to replace my Braun series 5 with the new version...Boots of all places and quite a good deal for £100 with the full clean and charge pack.

Very nice shavers but you may end up mixing up your own alcohol and essential oil cleaning solution :)

yeah very nice...The 5 is the sweet spot for me with much of whats on the 7 and 9...lovely quality shavers which last for ages

got to use it early.. im alternating it with a wet razor. reduces the necessity for me to stand at sink to once every 2/3 days so much easier. couldnt do without a wet one on occasion tho. nowt can do as good a job, but its best electric ive ever tried

Yeah I dont rate the rotary shavers so this Braun is the best Ive ever had. They put together a damn nice shaver and its better/more powerful than the previous version. I like a wet shave with a multi bladed gillette but that 8D Braun foil goes very close for a smooth shave.

I dont always like a wet shave if Im pushed for time. I trust the Braun to do a fine job

Son has had his 7 for a while and still loves it. Yes they are very well built but the cleaner is dear. Still you can't have everything and a box lasts about a year or so

Yes I like having the cleaner option and buy the carts online when I get round to it. The waterproof feature means a manual clean is a good option this time which is what I was looking for. It may be the preferred option when I think about it

After many years of owning Brauns the wet and dry feature was an important step for me

The carts dont last long and it tends to switch to a thorough clean way too early which only wastes fluid. It also seems to take longer for the head to dry after automatic cleaning. I would have liked a settings override as just running the shaver over a smooth face again seems to register as heavier use. As you say I cant have everything and the price was more than attractive
