I recently sold an almost identical unit on AoS. I am guessing that my model was built around the same time. Mine had brown knobs though, and because I was not so keen on the white top, I had mine professionally resprayed matt black. I think mine sold for 400 quid so you are on the right ballpark! GLWS.

Love the retro looks of this preamp.

Had one in the past, you get a great phono stage with it.

Kulwinder is also a nice guy to deal with.

Aw, thanks... I'm blushing now :-)

And yes, the phono stage is a corker, should really have put some emphasis on that...

Not seen that one before. Looks good. Guessing u could just use it as a phono . Used to do that with my old nak

Second (?) pre that Glenn Croft designed, I think.

Yup, no problem to do that at all though it’s a bit of a waste of a pre-amp. Perverse, when you think about it, a lot of valve phono stages would cost this much on their tod...

I think this is one of the first generation of commercially available Croft preamps. If I remember correctly, the range in ascending order was Micro, Super Micro, Super Micro A, Mega Micro. I well remember taking the long drive to Radlett Audio in the 1980s to buy my first Micro on the strength of the Kessler review!

What valves does this have in the phono stage?

Valve line up is listed as 3 X ECC83, 1 x 12BH7A, 1 x EL86, 1 x 85A2 (CV4048).

No, I meant the brand/type of ECC83...I can see you have a Mullard M8137 in the power supply. If you also have these in the phono stage, it's a strong plus point!

Daresay I'd be asking a lot more for it if had those in the phono stage! AFAIK the others are sweet-sounding RCAs...

I would love this. Sadly it's hard enough getting a decent integrated past you know, no chance with separate amps :/
