Ortofon's 100th anniversary limited edition SPU Century stereo cartridge is available to order, but I hope to have some stock before Christmas. This is the ultimate development of the SPU line that started in 1958, and here with a Selective Laser Melting (SLM) metal upper body, with a stabilised fossil beechwood lower part. The specs are very much SPU, but with a Shibata tip and many other refinements that make this a very special thing indeed. Price is £3999 including VAT and delivery.
Ortofon build every SPU variant to order, which is why there's usually a wait of between 4 and 6 weeks from an order being placed. Ammonite Audio is the only official UK SPU retailer routinely holding stocks of most SPU models, so you don't have to wait a month when you have an itch to scratch now!
